Amazing grace! What a sweet sound
That saved a wretch like me!
Once I was lost, but now I am found;
He was blind, but now I can see.
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace eased my fear;
How precious that grace seemed
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and pitfalls,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe this far,
And grace will lead me home
The Lord has promised me good
His Word secures my hope;
He will be my shield and my shield,
As long as life lasts.
The earth will soon melt like snow,
The sun shines more easily;
But the God who called me here below,
He will be mine forever.
When we were there for ten thousand years
Shining bright like the sun,
We have no fewer days to sing God’s praises
Than when we started.
