Liu Zhenying, known as Brother Yun, is a faithful servant of God who, despite tremendous suffering and persecutions, stood as a witness of Christ in China. He accepted Christ when he was 16, following the miraculous healing of his father. And then began his desperate hunger to know the Word of God! He wanted a Bible to read and had little success in finding one because possessing a Bible in China was illegal. Hence, he began to fast and pray for a Bible for many days. Finally, on the 100th day, his prayers were answered when two evangelists somehow came to his home to give him a Bible.

Overjoyed with the possession of the Bible, he began to read and memorize a chapter every day. Then guided by the Spirit of God, he left his home and moved towards Western China. He moved from village to village, sharing his testimony and the Gospel. Although he was not a great orator, his every meeting ended with many people crying for their sins. Yun says, “the power is in the Word of God, not in me!” His secret underground ministry flourished with time.

When Yun married a Godly woman named Deling, he told her, “If you marry me, we won’t have much money, and I may even get arrested for holding worship services.” She said, “don’t worry, I will never let you down.” Eventually, it came true. When Yun was arrested several times, it was Deling who stood by him like a rock. Throughout the horrendous and painful experiences in prison, they both remained cheerful, remembering God’s promises.

Yun eventually escaped from China and went to Germany in 2001. Since then, he traveled extensively, preaching the Gospel internationally. He believes that now China has some of the strongest, bravest Christians in the world because of the persecutions they have endured, and they are ready to go out as missionaries to the unreached areas. Hence now, through the “Back to Jerusalem” movement, Yun has been sending missionaries from China to serve in other parts of the world.
